Purpose
Established in 1981, Our Redeemer Preschool, which is licensed by the State of Iowa, introduces and reinforces the basic Christian truths about God, who made and cares for us, and Jesus, who always loves and forgives us. Qualified, caring Christian teachers encourage each child to grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Our Redeemer Preschool is governed by the Preschool Committee consisting of members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church as well as a parent representative.
Mission
- To introduce and reinforce the basic Christian truths about God – who made and cares for us, and Jesus – who always loves and forgives us.
- To encourage each child to grow physically, academically, socially, and spiritually.
- To give ample opportunities for independent, self-initiated activities, as well as opportunities for peer interaction and cooperation.
- To provide a carefully structured, but flexible, curriculum that provides each child the opportunity to succeed and feel good about him or herself.
Location
The Preschool is located on the lower level of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2301 E. Court St. (East Court at First Avenue) Iowa City, Iowa. The preschool room can be entered from the east side on the lower level adjacent to the parking lot.
Children Served
Our Redeemer Preschool admits children of any race, color, nationality or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities of the Preschool. We do not discriminate on the bases of race, color, nationality or ethnic origin in administration of the educational or admission policies.
