Statement of Faith

We Believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, and as such is authoritative in our lives.
We Believe that there is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We Believe that man was created in the image of God and through disobedience fell from his original state of perfection. Because of this fall into sin the entire human race shares in man’s lost condition.
We Believe that Jesus Christ is God and man in one person. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life as our substitute, was crucified for our sins, and has earned righteousness for us through His suffering and death. He was bodily resurrected from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father.
We Believe that repentance and faith brought about in us by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man.
We Believe that the gift of eternal life is ours by faith, that is, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. This gift is expressed in our life by works that are pleasing to God.
We Believe the Holy Spirit is given to all Christians and places them in the Body of Christ. He is the Comforter who dwells in the heart of believers, convincing them of the truth of Christ’s teaching, helping them to live a life pleasing to God.
We Believe that the Sacraments of the Church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is offered to adults upon confession of faith in Christ and to infants at the request of their parents; the Lord’s Supper to those who are in fellowship with this body and who are able to examine themselves in the Christian faith.
We Believe that both the saved and the lost will be resurrected from the dead; believers to an eternal life of blessedness and joy, unbelievers to eternal damnation and everlasting conscious punishment.
We Believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.
We Believe that the Church is commissioned by Christ to “preach the Gospel to every creature” and to “make disciples of all nations.” The task of the local church is to edify its members in the Body of Christ and to share the Gospel so that others may come to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. The responsibility to be a witness belongs to every Christian.
We Believe that the end of all things includes the visible, personal, and triumphant return of Jesus Christ.
