Adults

We offer many different opportunities for adults to become involved in activities at Our Redeemer.

Small Group Ministry

Like nothing else, Small Groups have the power to change lives. They’re the ideal route to discipleship – a place where the rubber of Biblical truth meets the road of human relationships. Small Groups are intentionally formed “communities of care” of 4-12 people that share a common interest and meet regularly in their homes around Scripture, prayer, service, and concern and support for one another.

Women’s Mission Guild (LWML)

The  Women’s Mission Guild is a local society of the National Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). Our purpose is to help all women in the church to grow spiritually, to encourage and equip women to reach out in love, and to provide opportunities for helping others. We aim to support each woman of the church as she finds ways to “Serve the Lord with Gladness.”

Please join us! We have devotions, a featured program, short business meeting, and fellowship with a meal or dessert. We also invite you to participate in any of our projects such as the spring Tasting Bee and Christmas Cookie Walk which are fundraisers to support mission outreach.

LWML Program 2019-20

The Women’s Mission Guild of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Iowa City, Iowa sponsors a Mission Project Grant to women over 18. The mission project shall promote serving Jesus Christ and support the mission of LWML through the LCMS or its recognized service organizations and other entities with values our Guild deems appropriate. Stephen Ministry

Their vision statement is The Our Redeemer Stephen Ministry prepares and supports laity who provide Christ-centered care to people facing a variety of crises or are life challenged. A crisis, used in this context, is defined as a dangerous or worrying time; that is, a situation or period in which things are very uncertain, difficult, or painful, especially a time when action must be taken to avoid a complete disaster or breakdown. It is not a foreshadowing of doom, but a time of unbalance, where the trusting relationship between the affected person and God is strained by preoccupation with worldly concerns.
